[may 23] botanical brushwork in watercolor

from $78.00

4-6:30 pm

Join us for a relaxed, beginner-friendly watercolor session focused on painting botanical leaves. We’ll explore a variety of simple leaf shapes and learn how to mix and layer different shades of green. You’ll practice using brush pressure and movement to create elegant, expressive leaves - from soft, rounded eucalyptus to pointed ferns and flowing vines. These foundational brushstrokes will help you capture the natural rhythm and form of basic foliage. Whether you’re new to watercolor or looking to refresh your skills, this workshop offers a creative and calming way to connect with nature through art.

Ages 14+.

If you plan on bringing your own supplies, please bring:

  • Full range of watercolors

  • Mixing palette or tray

  • Watercolor brushes in a size 4, 6, or 8 (or whatever your preference is)

  • Cold pressed Watercolor paper (brands I love using are Arches, Hahnemuhle, and Fabriano Artistico, and any handmade 100% cotton watercolor paper). We’ll need this for the effects we want to achieve.

  • Pencil and eraser

  • Paper towel or cloth

  • Water jar for rinsing brushes

about jackie

Jackie Peacock is a local artist who specializes in watercolor mountain landscapes. Growing up on the West Coast, Jackie draws inspiration from the natural beauty of mountains, evergreen forests, and moody coastal regions, bringing rich and dark contrast to her work. You can also find her over on YouTube, where she teaches a range of straightforward landscape tutorials. Beyond just a creative outlet, Jackie believes in the therapeutic value of painting. For her, creating art is not only about capturing nature and its beauty, but also about finding peace and connection through the process. Her work reflects the significance of nature in our lives and the sense of calm that painting can bring.
