In this class, you will start with raw brass or copper sheet and wire or pre-cut shapes. You will learn the skills to design, cut, stamp, hammer, and solder, as well as sand, patina, and polish these brilliant base metals. Working with copper and brass is a great option for those learning to metalsmith since they are less expensive than precious metals like silver and gold. They also offer interesting options for patina and texture that can be a signature of handmade items.
The class includes all materials and tools. Open to all skill levels, including beginners. Participants can opt to make two pendants instead of earrings.
No prior metalworking experience is required.
