[may 4] : open studio: metalsmithing
6-9pm
This open metalsmithing studio is for anyone interested in working on an independent project, honing their skills, or repairing pre-loved jewelry. You must have attended at least one previous metalsmithing workshop (from other instructors or locations OK). All tools and equipment will be available for the following types of projects: fabrication, soldering, resizing, setting stones, stamping, sanding/polishing/finishing. Raw materials will be available for purchase at wholesale cost, including sterling silver, brass, and copper (sheet, wire, small components). If you would like to work with gold or gold-filled materials, you should plan to bring your own materials or contact Aurora at least 10 days in advance to order. Aurora will be there to help provide instruction and support, but this is not a guided project.
For repairs, all materials must be base metals (brass, copper, bronze), sterling silver, or gold. Please email a photo of repairs to snowflowerstudios775@gmail.com a few days in advance to ensure the correct materials and tools are available.

This class has a minimum sign-up of eight (8) participants. At this time, due the amount of pre-planning, nature of a workshop environments and with respect to our instructor, we can not issue refunds on workshop registrations. In the event of an emergency, please notify us you will not be attending at least 48 hours prior to receive a credit towards another workshop. Workshop credits are not good for any in-store purchases.

Aurora lives in Reno, Nevada and has been making jewelry out of blades of grass and collecting smooth rocks since before she could hold a pair of pliers. She loves the meditative nature of seed bead jewelry, and loves to incorporate different techniques and stitches into her work. She is inspired and recognizes the influence of ancestral beadworker and makers from around the world, including her grandmother.
