[aug 23] quilting basics: create a crazy mug rug

$95.00

11-3pm

In this beginner-friendly class, participants will learn how to make a modern mini quilt that can be displayed as a wall hanging or used as a decorative mat. The workshop focuses on foundational quilting techniques, beginning with how to sew half-square triangles (HSTs). Students will then explore hand quilting with big-stitch techniques to add texture and a personal touch to their piece. The class will conclude with instruction on binding the mini quilt for a finished, display-ready project. This hands-on workshop is a great introduction to both machine piecing and hand quilting. Ages 13+. No prior quilting experience is needed, but participants should have basic sewing machine skills, such as threading the machine and sewing a straight line.

please note
At this time, due the amount of pre-planning, nature of a workshop environments and with respect to our instructor, we can not issue refunds on workshop registrations. about katrina

Katrina Goodin is a graphic designer and lifelong sewist. Her love for stitching began at a young age when she helped her mom make Halloween costumes and tiny outfits for her stuffed animals. As her passion for sewing grew, she began creating blankets and quilts to commemorate life’s special moments for family and friends. As a military spouse, Katrina has lived in many places, but during her time in Florida, she discovered a deep love for thrifting—especially vintage quilts and fabrics. This passion led to the creation of Vestige Made, where she transforms well-loved textiles into unique bags and accessories, giving them a second life. Katrina always has at least one sewing project in progress and finds joy in sharing her knowledge and appreciation for the artistry of quilting with others.
