Join local sewist and knitwear designer Kristen Ashbaugh to sew a pair of Pomona Pants by Anna Allen Clothing. This pattern features 2 pant style options and Sizes 00-22. Kristen personally lives in these pants year-round and has made 15-20 pairs in various sizes and shapes for myself and members of her family. Once you get the hang of this easy pattern, you will want to make multiple pairs as well! She will also share some of my favorite hacks for personalizing your Pomona Pants.
This is a beginner level pattern for garment making, but student should know their way around a sewing machine and be able to sew basic stitches with confidence.
You may bring your own machine or use on of ours. If bringing your machine, please ensure it's in good working order and you are confident using it.

3 yards of fabric of your choice. I recommend a medium-weight (5-6oz) Linen or linen blend. Here are some options for online ordering:
Stone Mountain & Daughter Fabrics has a great linen selection.
Fabrics-store.com has awesome washed/softened linen in tons of colors at really good prices.
Blackbird Fabrics has their Washed Linen (my personal fave) but are based in Canada and can sometimes take a few weeks to get.
Merchant and Mills (when you feel like splurging, based in UK but are pretty fast).
You may also be able to find linen or linen blends at Joann Fabrics or Mill Ends locally, but selection will likely be very limited.
Thread that matches your fabric. I recommend the Gutermann brand thread which can be found at Joanns or Mill Ends. If you order online, some stores have an “add matching thread” option and they will match the right color to your fabric for you.

Fabric should be pre-washed and ironed, ready to cut. You can also choose to work with cotton or another type of material. If you do, look for a medium weight fabric. about Kristen
Kristen is a knitwear designer and sewist living in Reno, NV. She grew up with a master seamstress for a mother who would make many of her clothes and could sew anything you challenged her with (including a Rainbow Brite Halloween costume in 1988 that contained 189 pattern pieces!) Naturally, some of this sewing talent wore off and over the years Kristen has honed her own skills to hand-craft most of her own wardrobe. She is passionate about using sustainable materials including textiles she can thrift and make into something new, mending her old clothing as needed, and generally avoiding fast fashion. Plus, there is nothing better than the thrill of a compliment on something you are wearing and being able to say, “Thanks, I made it!” And now, she is excited to begin teaching others these skills so that they can do the same.
