Seasonal sniffles can hit us hard! Join local herbalist and herb farmer Brooke Walshaw of Terroir Herbals to learn the fundamentals of crafting herbal syrups at home. In this hands-on workshop, students will explore the difference between refrigerated, non-alcoholic syrups and shelf-stable herbal syrups, along with the techniques, ingredients, and safety considerations for each. We’ll discuss and make an elderberry syrup, explore useful herbs and warming spices. Participants will leave with two herbal syrups and receive a beautifully illustrated zine filled with recipes, techniques, and tips to continue making herbal syrups long after class.

At this time, due the amount of pre-planning, nature of a workshop environments and with respect to our instructor, we can not issue refunds on workshop registrations. In the event of an emergency, please notify us you will not be attending at least 48 hours prior to receive a credit towards another workshop. Brooke Walshaw is the owner and founder of Terroir Herbals. Brooke grew up communing with nature developing a deep love of the desert and a passion for plants and cultivation at a young age. In 2018 Terroir Herbals was founded and now offers a diverse array of products from personal wellness to the kitchen. Terroir is the concept of identity, place, and origin, specially in relation to climate, terrain, and soil. Products aim to be a reflection of the terroir of the High Sierra Mountains of Nevada. Nevada's terroir is rugged but our remedies are the stronger for it. Brooke strives to produce thoughtful products made in small batches sourced locally in Reno, NV from sustainable local farms or ethical wildcrafting.
