12-3pm
Kinusaiga is a Japanese "threadless quilting" art form that creates detailed images by pressing fabric scraps into grooves cut into a wooden or foam base, requiring no sewing. Developed from the tradition of repurposing old kimono silk, this technique, often using scrap fabric on insulation board, turns fabric into textured masterpieces.
We will provide sample patterns but you are welcome to design anything you would like! No sewing or other skills needed. All supplies will be provided but you are welcome to bring any fabric scraps you would like from your stash. Please note, you will most likely not finish the project during class but tools will be provided to complete your project at home.
